I painted this in honor of Nicolaus Copernicus. He lived in the 1500's and was the first astronomer to formulate that the sun is the center of our solar system. At the time I painted this, I was coming to the realization that I am not the center of my universe, I am a part of the people who make my life what it is. This was a powerful realization for me and I felt Nicolaus Copernicus contribution to science was the perfect metaphor
