Statement:

" The job of the artist is to always deepen the mystery" -Frances Bacon

My work comes from my interest in architecture, straight lines, angles, dreams and hallucination.
When I was young I had a very hard time differentiating between reality and dreaming.
Visions would over shadow reality so much that I would be come confused between what was physical and
what was hallucination. These visions don’t seem to mean anything special, they just appear and disappear.
At age 16 I decided to record these visions as best I could so as to help me understand them better .
As time went on I learned it was best to just let the vision come as I worked.

I create my images using a technique called "Automatic Writing", this means that the final design is not planed out
and what ever I feel at the moment of creating is a valid addition or subtraction to the work. For example; I paint things
in, then scrape them out, paint something else over them, then let some of what was underneath show through, which
creates a larger image. If I feel frustrated, I screw in screws, sand out areas or paint over finished parts. I know the work
is done when I feel I have no more to add or subtract. What I end up with is a collage of images that meld into each other
like everyday consciousness, thinking, remembering, seeing, and feeling all at once.

I have always used "Automatic Writing", and when I found that Surrealists and DADAs used it as a tool, I felt a strong kinship to them.
I used to think my work had deep spiritual meaning, but I never found any answers. Recently, I have stopped trying to put meaning to
them and just accept them as a part of who I am and what they are. If there are deeper messages in my work, it is up to the viewer to
find their meaning.

It is my sincere hope that those messages bring you closer to a stronger understanding of who you are and why you came to this existence.

Statement on Dollhedz:

Dollhedz are a new style direction, they are the lighter side of my personality. They make me laugh and have given me the ability
to create art that is fun and accessible. They came out of a want to sell art and make people smile. They are fun to make and sell.
They are just as much a part of me as my abstracts.
