American Goth: WIP

10/3/2026

This an an update to the painting American Goth. As you can see in the date this piece was finished 7/25/2026. The above photo is the final image. It has been shown at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp.

This work started before the date I made post one. It went on for a long time with 4 image changes and sand outs.

7/08/2025

Currently three paintings are in progress. Two of them started at least a year ago and the one in this post started about a month ago. This post is devoted to the painting that started one month ago.

The working title of this painting is American Goth. Titles change as the piece progresses sometimes. Titles come after the work is complete. Sometimes streams of consciousness offer the title and the works context.

The first photos are some what near the inception.

Intimacy, Selected Group Exhibition @ the Confluence Gallery, Twisp. February 24 - April 18,  Twisp Washington. Opening Reception February 28   Curators Marcy Stamper and Robin Doggett Also featuring Perri Howard in a solo exhibition. Intimacy. It’s a term that encompasses a complex range of relationships and emotions. We have intimate relationships with children, spouses, friends, and lovers. Many of us feel a keen sense of intimacy with ourselves, with an animal, or with a place that holds special significance. A sense of intimacy could be inspired by music, by a work of art, or by nature. Although intimacy is universal, it is also a highly individual experience that is – by nature –private and secret. Intimacy can describe a sense of personal space, or of nakedness and unmasking, with layers removed. And although it can feel intense or even tangible, the essence of intimacy – like with many emotions – can be hard to capture. 1.The Bond :oil on panel, 8"x8", 2025 2.Comm...
